Mediation Resourses ORGANIZATIONS Association for Dispute Resolution of Northern California (ADRNC) ADRNC is a member-supported non-profit organization. The purpose of ADRNC is to provide educational programs and enhance the professional skills of mediators, arbitrators, and other practitioners in the field of dispute resolution through programs and a quarterly newsletter. Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) ACR is a national and international organization dedicated to enhancing the practice and public understanding of peaceful conflict resolution. ACR sponsors an annual conference and publications addressing the needs and concerns of those who work in dispute resolution on an ongoing career-oriented basis. California Dispute Resolution Council (CDRC) CDRC is a member-sponsored organization which has a hired a full-time lobbyist in Sacramento and plays a large role in helping to shape legislation regarding key issues in dispute resolution, including: arbitrator immunity, mediator certification, arbitrator disclosures, court-ordered mediation, HMO arbitration, confidentiality in mediation and many other critical legal, regulatory and ethical issues in this field. The Mediation Society The Mediation Society is a non-profit organization composed of trained and experienced mediators who meet regularly to share information, and develop mediation skills and techniques. The Society sponsors ongoing programs intended to further the advancement of the practice of mediation and the recognition of mediation as a superior form of alternative dispute resolution. American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution The American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution has as its purpose providing leadership in the dispute resolution field by fostering diversity, developing and offering educational programs, providing technical assistance, and producing publications that promote problem-solving and excellence in the provision of dispute resolution services. |
