CDRC is a member-sponsored organization which has a hired a full-time lobbyist in Sacramento and plays a large role in helping to shape legislation regarding key issues in dispute resolution, including: arbitrator immunity, mediator certification, arbitrator disclosures, court-ordered mediation, HMO arbitration, confidentiality in mediation and many other critical legal, regulatory and ethical issues in this field.

The Mediation Society is a non-profit organization composed of trained and experienced mediators who meet regularly to share information, and develop mediation skills and techniques.
